I am a Norfolk based photographer. My creative practice focuses on researching, documenting and exploring landscapes through the history of human interactions.
My work has been shortlisted for numerous prizes nationwide including ‘The Association of Photographer student awards’ and is represented by the Millennium Images Agency in London.
In my photography I aim to challenge people’s perceptions of the landscape making work at times of day and night not traditionally associated with landscape photography. I attempt to question how we, as a species, have changed the land and explore the balance between permanent scarring of the natural environment and nature’s ability to reclaim what was once undamaged.
‘Winterton’ is a documentation of an area in Norfolk and what is left of the area due to coastal erosion. Tidal surges in combination with man’s interaction have transformed this area of scientific interest into something very different over the last few years. The body of work is also a journey of discovery for myself, as I walk to relax and reflect on the pain and stress of life, a place where I can connect with nature and unwind and create new works.
