Film title: “Two tickets, please?”
My name is Emmalouise Smith, I am a film-maker and photographer based in Norwich. During the course of the MA I have expanded upon my own personal vision, fully exploring my mixed medium potential. My practise has lead me to look for the beauty in decay, and my latest film, aptly titled “Two tickets, please is no different. Written and directed by myself, the film has very much become the swan song of my MA studies. A film within a film within a film within a film… set in a cinema itself, I toy with traditional film aesthetics, utilising hand-made effects on the very celluloid itself, letting narrative and experimental themes collide. With a focus on colour and nostalgia, I promise to take the audience on an atmospheric journey. I invite you to evening at the movies, where the sights and sounds of your local picture-house will summon in front of your eyes.
Having recently been selected for 2018’s BAFTA Crew Film & TV programme, I aim to continue to progress toward to route of feature film status in the coming years. Previous achievements include worldwide festival nominations; including the BFI London Film Festival, the Hong Kong International Film Festival, Flicker Spokane USA, and Festival Delle Lettere Milan. Awards include a creative cinematography scholarship by BSC Practitioner Billy Williams.
